Annual Summer Book Sale

The Book Sale to End All Book Sales—Until 2027!

Hold onto your bookmarks, New Milford—this summer’s book sale isn’t just special. It’s historic.

Thanks to major library construction, the Friends of the New Milford Public Library have announced that their 2024 Annual Summer Book Sale—held July 11–13 at New Milford High School—will be their last for at least two years. That means no sales in 2025. No sales in 2026. Zip. Nada.

And their message? Crystal clear:

“Due to the library construction, this will be our LAST book sale for at least 2 years! Think ahead and STOCK up!!”

Why You Can’t Afford to Skip This:

  • Thursday, July 11
    • 9–10 a.m.: $5 Early Bird Hour—grab the rarest finds first
    • 10 a.m.–7 p.m.: FREE entry for everyone
  • Friday, July 12
    • 10 a.m.–6 p.m.: Perfect for after-work browsing or family trips
  • Saturday, July 13
    • 10 a.m.–2 p.m.: EVERYTHING HALF PRICE! Yes—entire sale, half off!

We’re talking thousands of gently used books: summer thrillers, kids’ series, cookbooks that’ll wow your dinner guests, memoirs that move you, and fantasy epics that launch you into new worlds.

But after July 13, the shelves go dark. No pop-up sales. No summer events. Just a long pause while the library transforms.

So come ready. Bring boxes. Bring friends. Bring your biggest love for stories.
This isn’t just a sale—it’s your two-year literary lifeline.
